Course Content Overview:
This course is designed to help students improve their TOEFL scores by providing comprehensive
Thorough and complete instruction and practice in all four language skills: reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
The following are the topics and strategies covered in the course:
- Reading Comprehension: Students will learn how to read and comprehend academic texts quickly
and effectively, identifying the main ideas, supporting details, and inferences
Conclusions drawn from evidence and reasoning in a text. Academic texts on a
variety of topics will be covered.
- Listening Comprehension: Students will learn how to listen to academic lectures and
conversations and comprehend them accurately
Correctly and without mistakes, identifying the main ideas, supporting details, and inferences
Conclusions drawn from evidence and reasoning. Students will also learn how to take effective notes while listening.
- Speaking: Students will learn how to communicate their ideas and opinions clearly and
coherently, both in prepared and spontaneous speech. They will also learn how to effectively use a variety of
speaking strategies, such as paraphrasing
Restating text or speech in your own words, summarizing
Giving a brief statement of the main points, and providing examples.
- Writing: Students will learn how to effectively organize and develop their writing, using
appropriate grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure. They will also learn how to analyze and respond to a
variety of writing prompts.
Throughout the course, students will engage in a variety of activities, including practice tests, interactive
exercises, and discussions with their peers. By the end of the course, students will have gained the necessary
knowledge and skills to succeed in the TOEFL test.
